Just imagining the skeptics like myself giving that EYE! I had similar treatment from an orthopedic doctor. Doing work on my hip and couldn't believe that it actually helped. This is the best invention ever !!!! I have arthritis in my thumb and have had my neck fused. When my thumb starts to hurt, I just put te setting to 3 and move it around the sore part, in about 5 minutes, the pain is gone !!! I have been using it every day for the past 4 weeks and I am still using the same battery. Showed my Mom, She tried it on her bad hip, she bought one the next day ! This product does everything it says it does. It provides strong stimulation to the points, it can be used as a localized TENS unit for sore muscles, and it's portable. The instructions do not mention that there is a laser or infrared light that does come out of the tip of the unit. This was an accidental find by my wife, who refuses to read instructions. She was using it to stimulate a point and she continued to hold down the button for approximately 4 seconds after reaching the desired level of stimulation. That's when the light turned on. The battery lasts a long time too. To address a couple of reviews about the electrical sensation in the hand while using the device, It can be reduced or eliminated by gripping the unit with your whole hand. It can be used on other people as long as you are touching them. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product.

With some patience and clear gel I use this tool daily for relief on tight muscles and the pads under my toes. It stimulates and get the blood flowing to the burning places. The extra $5 acupuncture guide is also very helpful. I have a acupuncturist so I try and follow his treatment patterns. Some days I excerise patience as it isn't consistent day to day but always relieves the " tight" spots.

I don’t post many reviews. With that being said, I must say my experience with this product has been a wonderful surprise. I have had acupuncture therapy in the past so I am familiar with the principles of it. This handy little pen has worked on a chronic hand pain I’ve been suffering with and I’m starting to use it on other areas. This is the 2nd one I’ve ordered and I haven’t had any issues with the battery compartment. It does take 1 AA battery. I’d suggest using the contact gel. It will take away any stinging sensation. The only problem I’ve encountered is with the contact gel getting down into the electrode contact. To stop this from causing problems, I unscrew it and soak in hot water for a few minutes and then let it air dry before screwing back onto tip. Great product and if you suffer from pain, this could be an alternative.

My husband uses this on his neck and shoulders to relieve tension headaches. He hasn’t gotten another tension headache since using this a couple times/week.
I do 10 minute sessions on power level 9, which is the highest level. The pen can be uncomfortable to hold while in use because the person holding it is the grounding element and receives a shock. To lessen the discomfort, my advice is to hold it in a fist instead of with fingertips.
I can’t hold the pen with my right hand because I have a metal plate in my wrist. Very uncomfortable.

It’s truly amazing I use it several times a day for acupuncture points and it opens up all the meridians in my body. When I got it I had pain in my right shoulder for months I used it once on the points on my shoulder and my shoulder was instantly healed within five minutes and that was now two weeks ago! My right index finger developed an inflammation I want to assist by getting circulation to the muscles acting on the first and second joints. Third joint is not impeded. The pen is doing its job.
